Oceânico Laguna Golf Course is different from most golf courses in the area of Vilamoura Resort. Although it is laid out over low-lying coastal terrain, can be considered a flat one like most of its neighbor courses it has only a few trees but its crowded with many water hazards, lakes and an impressive total of 79 bunkers that result in a completely different atmosphere.

GREAT-Oceanico-LagunaDesigned by the USA golf Architect Joseph Lee, measuring 6.111m from the white tees, this 11 holes were built on top of the former 27 holes Vilamoura III, and being completely refurbished in 1990, giving this par-72 course a all new life, creating different challenge to all golfers.

In its surroundings it was developed an environmental nature park what together with its multiple lakes attracts a wide variety of aquatic birds, both resident and migratory, as well as amphibians, otters, terrapins and others

Oceanico Laguna shares the clubhouse with the neighbouring Millennium Course and has hosted many International Competitions such as the European Biys Team Championship (1994) and Johnnie Walker Euro Classic (from to 1998).
